There has been a lot of talk in the media about medical cannibis prescribing for specific conditions in QLD but we are a long way from seeing cannibis being part of the standard treatment regimen that the GP will reach for. Patients seeking the treatment will first need to find a GP willing to prescribe under the very strict guidelines and are likely to face a long wait for approvals and supply. While waiting for the new guidelines and treatment plans to be established it is important that patients develop a relationship with their GP to work through all of the treatment options available for their condition before considering a request for cannibis.
